WLC 5508 access points no loadbalancing

Hi,

I'm having an issue in one open space area with a wifi network.

I currently have 5 access points and around 100 users connected to the WiFi.

There are desktops, Ipads and Mobile users connected to it.

13,24,16,41,9 are the associated users to each access point.

The one with 41 and 9 are only 10meters away from each other.

I read on some posts before someone having issues with APPLE and WIFI so cisco adviced to disable the load balancing.

I setup the client windown size to 10.

On the networks the client roaming is with the default value.

On the WLAN the Client Load Balancing is not checked.

Can you help me on distribute better the users accross these APs?

1.  The decision to assocation to which AP is made by the client itself (and not by the AP or WLC).

2.  Disable 802.11b/g data rates all the way up to 12 Mbps.

Just to add, it's probably also due to RRM lowering the power level in the AP with 9 clients. Set the min TX level to 11dbm or 14dbm.

I thought it was going to be at

802.11b/g/n Cisco APs > Configure

but no. Where can I change the TX level to 11dbm ?

Based on the code that you're using, WLAN's advanced tab we've per wlan and per radio limit, it'll hardlimit the user on that radio giving the extra clients an oppurtunity to find nearby AP for connection.

Apple devices doesn't support cisco's CCX, so loadbalancing feature that require CCX doesn't work.

Apple devices are considered as consumer rather enterprise grade by Apple himself for not coming under cisco's ccx umberlla.
