Hello I was wondering if it was possible to check the AP's temperature from a controller 5508 which is associated with from the GUI without WCS or Prime.
Regards.

Yes there is, but only (real) MESH AP's will actually report there temperatures to the WLC.
(Cisco Controller) >show ap env summary
AP Name Temperature(C/F) TempState Heater Battery Orientation Ethernet
------------------ ---------------- --------- ------ ------- ----------- --------
CAP3702I N/A N/A N/A N/A N/A N/A

Hello Freerk, thanks for your reply, about the MESH AP is the only thing I could find around the guides too, I guess there's no other way around than using a WCS or Cisco Prime, right?

Prime infrastructure gets its information out of the WLC with SNMP, so if the AP's don't report those values to the WLC Prime won't know it either. Only AP1500s report there temperature to the WLC as I know of.
