we have 2x5508 model controllers and we want to reset them. what about the licenses ? would we be able to use the wlc in original way ?
or we will need to reinstall, upload or any other action with current licenses ?

Delete the configuration does not remove license. But, it is a good idea to backup your license first, in case you dont have it saved.

A factory reset will not remove license files, whether it's a base license or an addon license.
Licenses are stored as files within the controller's file system, similar to how 'startup-config' functions in AirOS. Deleting the 'startup-config' file and rebooting does not impact other files in the system, including the license files.
To save a backup copy of all installed licenses or license credentials on the Cisco 5500 Series Controller, use the license save command.
