Hi All,
We currently have 2 x WLC 5508 (AIR-CT5508-K9)
Both of them are using 7.4.110.0, but we need to upgrade both WLC to 8.2
1. Is it a direct upgrade from 7.4.110.0 to 8.2?
2. Will I need to upgrade the bootloader version, currently 1.0.16
3. Will I need to upgrade the field recovery image version, currently 7.0.112.21
3. Can you please provide step by step guide for the upgrade from 7.4 to 8.2
Many Thanks
appreciate it

Hi,
Software-wise you can go direct but yes you should upgrade your FUS to the latest (1.9). The release notes have all the details.
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn82mr6.html
For you, your steps could be:
1) Install software 8.2 (don't reload)
2) Install Firmware 1.9 and reload
3) Wait 30-45 minutes as Firmware installs
4) WLC will then boot on to 8.2.x software and new firmware
Alternatively, do FUS first and software later as that is only one more reload.
Cheers,
Ric
