WLC transfer 8510 to 9800-40

Hi, 

How do a partner go about regarding the license transfer from a wlc 8510 to the new 9800-40?

The old WLC has all the AP licenses associated with the wlc itself and the new 9800-40 has them as DNA licenses in the smart account?

The 8510 is end of sales and needs to be replaced. What to do with the licenses? Do they need to purchase licenses again?

What does the process for the license handling look like?

Yes, there is no license migration option is there.

You can check with your Cisco AM, they may able to give you a discount on new license purchase
