WLC V4.1.171 DOT1X-1-ABORT_AUTH: Backend Authentication Aborted

Hello Cisco-Experts,

on one of our WLCs, the message-log is filled up with the follwing message:

Jan 23 13:45:44.922 1x_bauth_sm.c:443 DOT1X-1-ABORT_AUTH: Backend Authentication SM:: Authentication Aborted..

Does anybody have a good idea what this

is ?

We use a Juniper-Radius-Server with WPA2-AES and EAP-TTLS to authenticate clients against Active Directory.

Well going from that wlc error I would say that the communication between the wlc and AAA is not working.

There was a bug written around your controller code that showed these errors after configuring several wlans requiring 802.1x and WPA. You would allow the client to authenticate and pass traffic then pull the AAA server and see these errors.
