I inherited an old WLC4402 that is running 4 LAP1142 units. It is working fine, and we're not planning to replace until next year -- until today when the MIC cert expired on the WLC, and the device stopped accepting the AP connections.
I have looked everywhere, and it seems the fix is upgrading to 7.0.252, which allows for the disabling of the MIC cert date -- I'm currently on 7.0.240.
This is great, but I cannot get the new version. Cisco requires a contract on the device, but it is beyond end of life, so I cannot get a contract. I almost think that the listing of available images on the site is a tease. Any suggestions? I thought about opening a TAC case to plead this Catch-22 problem, but I cannot open a case without an active contract -- which once again, I cannot buy!
