Hi all,
When configuring 802.1X for Layer 2 security on a Cisco WLC the drop down menu lists two options;
1.) WPA/WPA2 --> 802.1X (authentication key management)
OR
2.) 802.1X
I use the first option for when configuring 802.1X/Radius. When is the second option used?

The second option using 802.1x is when using Cisco LEAP authentication. This doesn't use any WPA or WPA2 encryption but instead uses WEP. So you will most likely never use the second option at all and never should:)
