Hi there
Could anyone explains about "Five of the 20 ports can be upgraded to 400GE through a license on a per-port basis" refers to cisco https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/asr-9000-series-aggregation-services-routers/datasheet-c78-743580.html
i wanna use a9k-20hg-flex-tr lc and wanted to be sure about how can i use the 400ge ports
i saw some license on some sites with s-a9k-400ge-enable. do i need that?
i also dont sure if i use 400ge port can i have 100g ports also?
and how exactly
for example if i breakeout port 0 and its gives me a fourhundredge and can i use port 4 to 20 for 100g at the same time?
best regards

Hello @rainow
A9K-20HG-FLEx can physicaly host 20 QSFP ports, but the usable mix depend on licensing and the total bandwidht cap of 2 TBps per card _ so you can run all 20 ports at 100G, or instead license up to 5 ports to operate at 200G or 400G, and still use the remaining ports at 100G, as long as the aggregate never exceeds that 2T.
-> S-A9K-400G-ENABLE license is required for each port you want to bump up to 400G, and the rest continue working at 100G without additional licenses.

Separate datasheet.
That’s the reason why it is preferable to check that in details with your Cisco Parnter.

Thanks for your help M02@rt37
Then why cisco didnt mention anything about S-A9K-400G-ENABLE license in docs?
