Hi,
Are you trying to calculate the 95 percentile bandwidth usage of a network device?

If so, then I attach some links on this topic:

calculate your 95th percentile

example 1:

  1. Collect bandwidth utilization samples over a period of time. For example, use SNMP to capture the data every minute for a week. At the end of the week, you’ll have 10,080 samples.
  2. Sort the values from highest to lowest.
  3. Remove the top 5% of values. If you have one week’s worth of polls every minute, that means removing the top 504 values.
  4. The remaining highest value is your 95th percentile value.

example 2:

  1. measure bytes / packets sent / received counters from network equipment every 5 minutes.
  2. Throw away the 5% highest numbers.
  3. that is the 95% percentile.
