A9K-2T20GE-L card gives boot-up error message with A9K-RSP440 with IOS 5.1.3

We have encountered the following message during the boot-up of the A9K-2T20GE-L blade in the ASR-9010 unit with the A9K-RSP440.

The IOS is 5.1.3.  The same message happens with A9K-RSP440-TR and A9K-RSP440-SE.  Once the blade boots up completely, it seems to operate normally.

Let me know what can be done to eliminate these messages.

The A9K-2T20GE-L is getting a bit long in the tooth if you ask me. Those errors seem to indicate a memory or CPU issue on the linecard. I would soft reset the line card and if that does not resolve the issue, I would re-seat the line card. If none of those actions resolve the issue, I would open a Cisco TAC case and have them investigate for a possible RMA.

Error Message: %PLATFORM-LC_CPUCTRL-2-TX_RX_PAR_ERROR LC CPU controller driver detected Tx/Rx parity error

Explanation: LC CPU controller driver detected a parity error on Tx/Rx

Recommended Action: Reset the board. If the message recurs, copy the error message exactly as it appears on the console or in the system log, call your Cisco technical support representative and provide the representative with the gathered information.

Good luck!

Thank you for your recommendations.  We have tried to re-seat the card and the memory on the card.

This has not provided any change in the errors which we see while the card is booting.  Once the card is online and the "sh plat" is showing "IOS XR RUN", the card looks normal and no additional errors are showing up.  Probably need to RMA the card since we don't see these errors with another A9K-2T20GE-L card in the same chassis.

this is a memory parity error. sometimes they are transient and sometimes they are hard.

if they are hard, that is the problem re-occurs, then the card needs to be exchanged.

apologies for the trouble you experienced.
