A9K-8X100GE-TR RATE LIMITED

On ASR-9904 Chassis with RSP5-SE.  I was under the impression that the RSP - Chassis combo could support 1.8T per line card.  However, when a A9K-8X100GE-TR is inserted, I get RATE LIMITED message.

Shouldn't the RSP5-SE be able to support the bandwidth of 800G card?

Hi PK99,

the higher bandwidth is when we have lightspeed cards + RSP5

slide 19 covers the difference.

as you have a tomahawk based line card, the throughput with a single RSP5 will be lower since RSP 430 per slot, dual 860 per slot

Thank you Tarik!  This pdf helps a ton.  I guess with Gen 4 cards the RSP5 will do 900G per slot.
