Hello Wilson,

A cosmetic bug is something that doesn't effect the functionality. For example you are not getting proper output of expected command output but it is actually NOT impacting any service.

Thanks

Raj Pathak

Hi Raj

But that "Bug cosmetic" will always exist or have to be resolved at the time by TAC staff.

Regards

Wilson V.

Hello Wilson,

Bug Is condition where things (H/W or S/W) not working as expected. so bugs can be seen any point of time, however few of them doesn't effect the functionality of the system hence they are called cosmetics bug. For example some errors messages is coming on the router which is not service impacting but customer can still talk to TAC to find out the reasons behind that and if TAC says it Cosmetic BUG they don't have to worry about it.

HTH.

Thanks

Raj Pathak

Hello,

I have a question.

I have two remote offices on VLAN 50 but not on same subnet. Both offices have AP flexconnect in VLAN 50.

  • Office 1: 10.1.0.0 /24
  • Office 2: 10.2.0.0 /24

WLC is in office 1 with IP address 10.1.0.250. Wi-Fi users in office 2 will have IP adress in 10.1.0.0 /24 or 10.2.0.0 /24 in order to have connectivity ?

Best regards.

Hi Olivier,
Greetings

I understand your query is related to flexconnect product and WLC. This forum is for IOS-XR architecture. I would suggest you to use the right forum according to technology and product. I am not seeing any expert event on flexconnect or WLC nearby. You can put your question on Cisco Support community or open a TAC case with Cisco.

Thanks
Sudhir Kumar

Hi Experts,

Would you please provide me a link to understand more about the CSM tool. I already checked this link http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/smu/csmuser.html

1. I downloaded CSM 3.2. Would you please confirm that this will support 9904?

2. The link describes the windows installation process but I could not able to located .cmd file when I unzip csm 3.2.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/smu/csmuser.html

3. What tcp/udp ports we need to open if there is a firewall in the path.

4. If I want to manually track the SMU/PIE/Service pack etc. what is the best way?

Hi Foysol,

CSM 3.2 is linux based, CSM 2.x is Windows based, for windows download it, right click and unzip it and install it.

For 3.2. linux, you do need to follow the install instructions inside the pdf file.

CSM is the best method to manage upgrades, smus and services packs.

To HTTP into CSM, its over port 5000. From CSM to the routers allow telnet or SSH through the firewalls.

Eddie.

Thank you Eddie,

My plan to install the CSM on our NMS systems. Which don't have direct access to internet.

I have to install this in NMS because NMS allowed to access the devices. I understand CSM needs to talk with Cisco site to get the updates. Would you please provide some details how CSM communicates with Cisco.

I tried the ACT tool and understand now this is NOT supported by Cisco anymore. Would you please confirm that CSM version 2.X will not be obsolete soon.

CSM uses HTTP to talk to Cisco.com. CSM will not be obsolete anytime soon, its very heavily used by customers.

Eddie.

Thanks Eddie.

Hi Eddie,

I installed CSM 2.0 and looks good. I was able to see the recommended and optional SMU list. But when I tried to download the SMUs I received an error. I definitely can download the SMU manually from cisco.com.

Foysol,

You need to accept the cisco software use agreement i believe, you may have not done it for a while. Go to the bottom of the below link, accept it, wait 24h and try again.
