Hi

I want to mirror disk between Active RSP and new RSP which is going to be added to chassis.

Do I need 

MIRROR_ENABLE=Y

1. On active RSP only ?

2. On new RSP only ?

3. Both RSPs must have this configured in rommon ?

Hi,

It is not possible to mirror between the two RSPs, you can only mirror between the two flash disks within one RSP. Mirroring between the two RSPs is not necessary as they are automatically synced anyway, at least for the important parts like software and configuration.

When you want to mirror the local flash disks you use the "mirror location" configuration syntax, the ROMMON variable is automatically set by the system, you dont need to care about this.

correct indeed, I wanted to add that the mirror is set by the XR sw, and generally/default set to yes. you'd only want to disable it, in case you don't want the primary and secondary to sync to one another.

disk0/1 is synced, boot vars etc,not the harddisk contents.
