ASR 9000v access switch

We setup a new ASR 9010 and have 2 9000v shelfs that we want to use just as access switches.  We connected both 9000v's each with a LAG uplink.  Both shelves show they're online and ready.  Question 1-  what's the purpose of the "satellite remote ports gig 0/0/0-43" command?   Question 2- How do I get vlans passing on these things....Do I need to define the vlan on the shelf port itself and also the LAG uplink ?    I have not dealt with these 9000v shelves yet so I'm not 100% on how they pass the traffic.

We did try a test....We defined a vlan on the physical port and the LAG port but could not get the vlan to propagate....

Example

interface gig 100/0/0/0.4 l2transport  (physical port on 9000v)

interface Bundle-Ethernet 5.4  (LAG connected to 9000v)

 encapsulation dot1q 4

rewrite ingress tag pop 1 symmetric

Hi

You need to add the satellite under the nv context

nv
 satellite 100
  type asr9000v
  secret 5 xxxxxxxxxxx
  description satellite connected to asr9k
  upgrade on-connect
!

And then under the bundle-interface (this is called ICL) that is connected to the satellite add the following under nv contect. This will tie this bundle to satellite 100 and use all ports on the satellite.

interface Bundle-Ether100
 description To SATELLITE;;;
 mtu 9216
 nv
  satellite-fabric-link satellite 100
   remote-ports GigabitEthernet 0/0/0-43
!

When you commit this you will see that interface 100/0/0/0-43 is added to the 9k.
