I was about to order two 9906 chassis with two RSP880 each
I red here that they don't support nV Edge on 3rd gen cards?! is that still the case?

on this slide it says "No support for nV-Cluster and 3rd party applications for RSP880-LT" for LT models only!!! it doesn't say anything about RSP880..

RSP880 does have the cluster ports but 1. it is not supported on any RSP880 variant 2. it was never tested 3. the code to support it on the rsp880 probably doesn't exist either and 4. if you open a support case with TAC while running this setup you will be asked to revert to supported hardware.
I would recommend looking into EVPN for active-active dual-PE setups.
