Guidence for change of policy-map

Hello,

customer with ASR9k was asking me if it is possible to change policy-map when it is already attached to subinterface, physical interface or so.

Is it required to unattach the policy-map before we can change it?

Hi yes you can alter a policy/class map while its live but you cant alter the name of the service policy in global or interface config it will negate it but you can change the parameters of it , just be careful doing it live and not in a maintenance window especially on asr as it will probably be there main router wan breakout
