How to upgrade A9K-RSP5-SE running 6.5.2 to 7.x.x IOS XR x64

Our RSP5 came with 6.5.2 I attempted to upgrade to 7.1.1.  We have RSP880s running Classic XR so upgrading those is not a problem as I am fairly familiar with the process of classic.  x64 is a totally new animal for me.

So I tried to upgrade the RSP5 by installing the ISO and tar image with the following command

install add source tftp://10.1.1.4/ asr9k-mini-x64-7.1.1.iso ASR9K-x64-iosxr-px-k9-7.1.1.tar

Once it was complete I verified by issuing the following commands

show install repository | i mini

Verified that asr9k-mini-x64-7.1.1 was indeed in my directory

Issued the command

install extract asr9k-mini-x64-7.1.1

Verified the image was extracted by issuing

show install repository | i xr-

Verified that asr9k-xr-7.1.1 was in the directory

Then issued

show install repository | i sys

confirmed by sysadmin file was there

Then I proceeded with

install prepare issu asr9k-xr-7.1.1

Then I got an error saying not enough redundancy (forgot the rest) messge

Then I just decided to just activate by issuing

install activiate asr9k-xr-7.1.1

Then an error popped up saying

asr9k-xr-7.1.1_x64 does not exist

I have verified that asr9k-xr-7.1.1 was indeed in my directory but I kept getting error stating that the file did not exist.

Am I missing a step here?

Any input will be greatly appreciate.

Thank you.  A CCIE friend helped me.  He had a hard time installing the image as well, for some reason this RSP was acting strange but ultimately took the upgrade after 6 tries.
