Identification of A9K-RSP880-SE vs. A9K-RSP880-RL-SE

We have two of these RSPs.  One is the full rate A9K-RSP880-SE and the other one is "rate limited" version A9K-RSP880-RL-SE.  The parts looks the same and boot up with the same PID: A9K-RSP880-SE

Is there a command to identify which card is running at 880G and which one is running at 440G?

Hi,

You have the same hardware on the "rate limit" RSP. The license is honor based and you should buy license "A9K-RSP880SE-RL-U" to avoid an issues with Cisco if you are using the full capacity on this RSP.

So you are saying that A9K-RSP880-RL-SE @ $65,000 is exactly the same product as the A9K-RSP880-SE @ $92,000 with the full rate performance of 880G/slot and there is no specific performance limitation as listed on the product description (A9K-RSP880-RL-SE Service Edge Rate Limit to 440G/Slot Fabric).

It seems strange that both parts look identical and have identical functionality and the only way to tell the difference is by the serial number that is related to the specific PID (either A9K-RSP880-RL-SE or A9K-RSP880-SE)

The PID under "show platform" is identical, right? You can also take a look at the faceplate of the RSP. It should have the same ports and PN.

Cisco is offering "A9K-RSP880-LT-SE" that has different hardware, i.e. different SSD and 4 cores, 2.4Ghz.

The PID in "sh platform" and "sh inventory" are the same showing A9K-RSP880-SE.  The face plate is also the same showing "A9K-RSP880-SE".  Only the serial number for one unit is identified in CISCO's database as A9K-RSP880-SE and the serial number for the other unit is identified as A9K-RSP880-RL-SE
