Issue to retrieve inventory of ASR9001 IOS-XR 4.2.3 with CSM server

Hi,

I face an issue :

I can't retrieve inventory of Cisco ASR 9001 IOS-XR version 4.2.3  with CSM server version 4.4.1

I have the following error message:
raise action_instance
condoor.exceptions.CommandSyntaxError: cXR: Command unknown: 'admin show install superceded'

I understand that CSM Server tries to remotely enter the command line "admin show install superceded"
but unfortunately it seems that this command line does not exist on IOS-XR version 4.2.3 :

RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:ASR9001#admin show install ?
active Show the active package information
audit Audit installed packages
auto-abort-timer Show auto-abort-timer value
boot-options Show boot options
committed Show the committed package information
detail Show information about constituent package
inactive Show inactive package information
issu Show In-Service Software Upgrade (ISSU) information
location Show active packages on a node
log Show log file
package Name of the package
pie-info Show information in a PIE file
request Show current request
rollback Show package information for a rollback point
sds Show SDS information
summary Show summary information
trace Show trace data for the install components
verbose Show summary, component and file information for each package
which Show the origin of a named process, component or package
| Output Modifiers
<cr>

or

RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:INFRA-P-ROUTER-000582#admin
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:INFRA-P-ROUTER-000582(admin)#show install ?
active Show the active package information
audit Audit installed packages
auto-abort-timer Show auto-abort-timer value
boot-options Show boot options
committed Show the committed package information
detail Show information about constituent package
inactive Show inactive package information
issu Show In-Service Software Upgrade (ISSU) information
location Show active packages on a node
log Show log file
package Name of the package
pie-info Show information in a PIE file
request Show current request
rollback Show package information for a rollback point
sds Show SDS information
summary Show summary information
trace Show trace data for the install components
verbose Show summary, component and file information for each package
which Show the origin of a named process, component or package
| Output Modifiers
<cr>

I wanted that CSM server knows the inventory of this ASR9001.
Thus I could upgrade the ASR9001 with the advice of CSM server.

Does it exist a fix so that CSM server be able to retrieve the inventory in this particular case ?

Thank you

Best Regards

Hi,

4.2.3 is over 10 years old, it is end of life/support

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/ios-nx-os-software/ios-xr-software/end_of_life_notice_c51-714709.html

CSM was created years later, it does not explicitly have the version in the document

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/smu/b-csm-install-guide.pdf

however i  doubt there will be any effort to have the tool cover older releases.

you can try to reach out to the support team here to ask cs-software-manager@cisco.com

thanks
