I got two routers on same AS number.
But need to tweak the peering AS number to appear as eBGP.
I am getting the message below.
Could this be due to limitation again of version 5.1.1?
or limitation of local-as feature as for eBGP peers only?
please advise.
router bgp 100
neighbor 10.200.51.1
remote-as 100
local-as 65068
!!% Change would result in local-as being set on internal or confederation neighbor (10.200.51.1)
!
!
end

The local-as feature is for EBGP neighbours only. See for example

Apologies, I think my previous answer was incorrect.
The XR Release Notes suggest IBGP support for the local-as feature was added in XR 5.2 but looks like the command reference guide has not been updated.
