NCS5k SMU arm vs x86

Hi All,

quick question to clarify - the SMU tar often have x86 as well as arm rpm files

If I understand correctly the difference between them is based on architecture in use.

Do I need to add/install/activate both x86 and arm, or do I need one or the other based on hardware installed ?

hardware is ncs5508/55a1/55a2 in this case

thanks

Mark

You'd need the correct one for your hw architecture. 5508/55a1/55a2 are all x86.

Hi

that was my understanding too, until i got the below on the 5508

Feb 16 14:36:31 Action 1: install add action started
Feb 16 14:36:46 Install operation will continue in the background
Feb 16 14:36:46 ERROR! Failed to find /misc/disk1/install_tmp_staging_area/7.2.2/ncs5500-sysadmin-system-7.2.2.1-r722.CSCvx16766.arm.rpm
Ensure the package exists and retry
Feb 16 14:36:46 ERROR! Command failed

So this made me rethink and ask if my understanding was indeed correct

cheers

Mark
