Hi guys
I am trying to get started with ZTP on AS9000v and I can't make it work
Apparently the router comes up with all the interfaces down and I need to manually login, add the user admin and then configure the Management interface for DHCP , do a no shut on the interface and eventually do a ztp init (not sure if ztp breakout is needed here)
Note: I am using this in GNS3 (qemu and Ubuntu 18 underneath)
Is it normal for the interface to be down when the router starts?

Maybe a way around this would be to do this once (setup everything necessary for the ZTP) and save the config.
And then just use the copy of this “default-ztp-disk“ image with every new ASR9kv instance.
You’re in the realm of virtual so take advantage of that ;)

Hi,
When I ZTP I also apply a DAY0 config that has the interfaces no shut.

See
https://xrdocs.io/device-lifecycle/tutorials/2016-08-26-working-with-ztp/#more-complex-example
for an example of a script for initial prep of XRv9K, including unique RSA keys. Can modify to prep up nodes for further config using NETCONF/SSH.

Thanks guys I figured out how to do it in the end. It was indeed a combinations of the above
