Cant type passwords

I cant type passwords in command prompt while accessing routers and switches remotely

 It seems you are using wrong login and or password.

Try to connect the router directly and change the it

conf t

username "user" password "password"

 I am not using wrong password.The thing is i am not  able to type passwords. I cant type anything while using passwords  in command  prompt.

Also having this problem, this was the file I'm working with. whenever I go to log into the command prompt on mikes computer I type in the server I'm trying to connect to, type in the user name which always works but when I get to the password I can no longer type.
