This event provides an introduction to Segment Routing (SR) and its simplicity for MPLS data plane forwarding in Cisco IOS® XE and Cisco IOS XR. There are a variety of MPLS applications, which are built over multiple control plane protocols with complex interactions. Label Switch Paths (LSPs) have been traditionally provisioned with protocols such as LDP, TDP, RSVP-TE, and BGP-LU.
The session includes a live demonstration of configuration examples and other best practices.

Featured Speaker
Elvin Arias Soto is a Customer Support Engineer with the Cisco IOS XR team in Cisco’s Customer Experience organization. He has experience across different technologies such as OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, EIGRP, Cisco IOS XR, DMVPN, MPLS, and multicast among others. Elvin holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology from the Iberoamericana University of the Dominican Republic. He has several Cisco certifications, such as CCIE R&S #57406, CCNP R&S, CCNA Service Provider, CCNA Security, and CCNP SP. He is currently preparing for the CCIE Service Provider certification. In addition, the Cisco Learning Network community has selected him as a Cisco Designated VIP for five years in a row (since 2013).
