Does DNA support 3rd party devices?

Hi community,

I will really appreciate if you can confirm that DNA can integrate 3rd party devices (switches) via API REST to be "manageable" by DNA Center with reasonable limitations. If you can provide documentation it will be wonderful!

Thanks all!

It used to be Catalyst Cente (DNA Center) used a Software Development Kit (SDK) for multivendor support. This SDK helped developers create "device packs" specifically for third-party devices. The device pack translates how DNA Center communicates with the device's southbound protocols. https://github.com/cisco-en-programmability/dnacentersdk

However i read here https://community.cisco.com/t5/networking-knowledge-base/faq-catalyst-center-third-party-device-visibility/ta-p/4910315#toc-hId--2117898411

Support for the Multivendor SDK has been deprecated

Hope this helps.

No, it will not.

Please find more information about third party devices support here: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/cloud-systems-management/network-automation-and-management/catalyst-center/2-3-7/user_guide/b_cisco_catalyst_center_user_guide_237.html, search for third party devices.
Be aware the devices are managed by Catalyst Center using SNMP, not REST APIs.

@Gabriel Zapodeanu

Link is a 404 for us non-Cisco staff.

I think this is a public-facing link:  https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/cloud-systems-management/network-automation-and-management/dna-center/2-3-7/user_guide/b_cisco_dna_center_ug_2_3_7.pdf

I am going to try and see if I can configure an End-of-Support Cisco kit, like a 3750/3750G/3750E/3750X, as a "third party device".
