Unable to access ROMMON mode

Tips on how to access ROMMON mode on Catalyst 9300L?

I have tried multiple terminal emulators and still no luck on hitting the 'break' at the right time.

Connect the console and do the below steps :

Power cycle the switch. Immediatly press and hold the Mode button. Hold the button till the Status LED will go amber. Then on the console you should be in Boot Loader.
Switch:

The Status LED never changes from green flashing to amber.  The switch boots and attempting to boot from (flash:package.config) (interrupted)  Then provides menu that is not for ROMMON mode.

Power down the switch. 

Power up the switch. 

Look at the LED. 

The moment the first LED starts to blink, press the Mode button 3 times in quick successsion.
