URGENT REQUEST: origDeviceName question in CDR

I'm pulling CDR once a month and using this information for metrics - comparing previous months, etc.

Noticed a huge jump in last months activity on desk phones based on looking at the origDeviceName = SEP*

No one should be in office at this time due to COVID.  Not sure how or if this is possible.  Is there some way that the origDevicename is actually showing due to use of another device....i've double checked my scripts that pull in and pull apart the data and the number add up based on the logic in comparing raw cdr file and my final output just not sure how there would be people in office using desk phones.

any help would be appreciated.

You're likely seeing calls that are forwarded.  They have forwarded phones from their desks to their cell, and the deskphone becomes the originating device for that leg.

You could also be seeing CIPC / IP Communicator traffic.  Those could be configured as SEP devices.
