Our customer would like to use DHCP with a fixed Reservation for all UCCE servers.
Is this supported?
Some sideinformations:
The subnets (private and public) of both sides are different and therefore have to be routed (static route on private interface as only one Default GW is configurable)
Your answer (possibly with a referal to the cisco documentation is very much appreciated!

Hi,
well, the Staging Guide (I have it for the UCCE 8.0(1) version) says IP addresses must be set for private interfaces. This means DHCP is not supported. The Staging Guide has also good information about those subnets for private interfaces.
I cannot see any good reason why I should rely on DHCP anyway especially with a system like ICM.

This is just adding another layer of unnecessary complexity. I would push for them to just exclude the IPs from the DHCP scope and assign them to the servers directly.

I'm with Gergely and David.
Use static IP addresses. Period.
Do it right, or not at all.
