Technical Overview Using Commit Queues

Ulrik Stridsman, Software Developer

Abstract

The transactional throughput can vary a lot when large numbers of devices need to be modified in one go. Commit Queues in NSO is a feature in which operators can ”decouple” the CDB transaction from the network transaction adding quite a lot of flexibility. However, it does not come for free, and you need to understand the implications. In this talk, we will walk you through the details based on NSO 5.7 and what happens if something goes wrong, and you must roll back to the last stable state.
