So yes, this link shows how to monitor interface counters.
https://community.cisco.com/t5/network-management/eem-monitor-interface-traffic-in-out/td-p/1803014
Is there a way for me to monitor overall device (router/switch) traffic, and then fire off an EEM applet?
I want to have the applet ping to a specific port, to fire off a python script I wrote, after the router surpasses a given traffic threshold overall. Is this possible? Or am I stuck with interface traffic only?
Thank you

Okay,
Any more thoughts on this, or is interface monitoring my only solution? For example would i be able to apply a route map to all traffic to monitor bps?
