I am using the Devnet sandbox with the ACI simulator. When I do pushes with Terraform I loose connectivity to the APIC. Pings stop working. I need to understand if this is an issue with the simulator or something I would see in production. How do I get some support on this?

@kalbritt is this the always on or reserved sandbox? If this is the reservation sandbox does your vpn drop out, is only loss of ICMP you get or other connectivity too? Once changes are made do pings start back up again, if so how long does this take?

Reserved Sandbox. Over the past day or two the vpn has been dropping out sometimes, but sometimes only the pings to the APIC. The pings start up again after probably 5-10 minutes. I didn't track but next time I will. And it is not every change I do. Kind of random.

Past threads have shown that mostly ICMP is denied to the sandbox, I don’t think this all, but worth keeping in mind. I would run a TCP ping or curl. It could be something as simple as the end device is processing the change and ICMP dropped, some of the API use the same resources as the UI, and so the end destination drops the ICMP due to low memory or CPU. Like for example as last case someone noted that many changes on the sd-wan API prevented users from accessing the UI. All just theory and unless you can get packet captures from both ends you will never really know. If there is another device such as a devbox in the lab, you can test connection to this too at the same time/methods and see if this also drops.
