Here is our problem:
- Unable to resolve local names when a user connects to the Cisco Secure Client VPN. o However, we can ping all local servers, especially the DC/DNS. o We have installed the virtual appliances (Umbrella) on-site and they seem to be working correctly. o The IPs of the appliances are declared as DNS in the AnyConnect configuration on the Meraki. o No problem with resolution for PCs on-site, whether it's local names or internet names. o No problem resolving internet names from the VPN client using the Umbrella Appliances, but unable to resolve local servers.
- Unable to resolve local names for machines on Azure (with Site to Site VPN).
In our case, we conducted 2 types of tests:
- On our main internal domain which is declared as domaine.formatel.fr. Perhaps the formatel.fr is problematic because it also exists on the internet.
- On one of our internal DNS zones which declares machines with a name in *.local (does not exist on the internet).
We're wondering if the problem is related to the Umbrella configuration or on the MX side.
