IR1101 Application Hosting: Session connect is not supported

Hi, everyone.

Through minor adaptations in the Cisco roadmap for the demo application, I can generate, deploy, activate and run the my own application (with id SGG) on the IR-1101. As can be seen below through the response to the 'show app-hosting detail' command, the IR-1101 considers that the SGG application is running.

But executing the command 'app-hosting connect appid SGG session' returns the message 'Session connect is not supported'. This is a different behavior from the demonstration application, where the command works and I have access to the demo application console.

Is there anything, beyond what is described in the tutorial, that should be configured in the IR1101, or in the package descriptor file, to enable access to the SGG application console?

Router#show app-hosting detail
App id : SGG
Owner : ioxui
State : RUNNING
Application
Type : docker
Name : SGG
Version : 1.0
Description : Smart Grid Gateway

Activated profile name : c1.tiny

serial/aux iox_console_aux serial1
serial/syslog iox_syslog serial2
serial/trace iox_trace serial3

Router#app-hosting connect appid SGG session
Session connect is not supported

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

my problem was very similar and I solved it by doing these four things:

1) Uninstall EI agent.

2) Enable app signature validation (I guess this is the critical step, since the app needs to access the secure storage network, i really don't know, maybe someone can shed some light -  @Emmanuel Tychon?) IOx -> System setting -> Application Signature Validation

3) Configure DHCP for address assignment

4) Reinstall EI app

Hope this helps.

Best regards

Silla
