Final Year Project based on IoT and Devnet

For my final year of BSIT, I am inclined towards designing a network for a smart home (or smart hospital) based on smart devices, SDN and also integrate it with DevNet. I have no knowledge of Devnet as yet but I am willing to learn. I have skills related to CCNA and Python. 

Please feel free to share any other better ideas that you may think will be feasible. Maybe I am being too over efficient with my choices.
