IP phone 7912: Cannot hear incoming ring

I have Cisco IP phone 7912 series and the ringer volume is not working. When I press the volume button, a red light on the handset blinks but I am unable to hear any ring.

Also i tried Menu -> Settings -> Ring Type . Selected a ring type and pressed play button. However, I could not hear anything. Just saw red light blinking.

Any suggestions?

Are you facing this issue with multiple 7912 phones or a single phone. If the issue is with a single phone then it seems to be related to hardware and you can get RMA done for the Phone. If there multiple phones facing the issue, then you can try changing the firmware on them.
