Solved: ISR 4331 has no voice commands after swapping hardware

A 4331 gateway was sent by Cisco to replace one that had a timing issue. The FXO card was swapped over to the new one but there are no voice commands in the IOS to configure it even through the router recognizes the card. I put the "old" IOS on the new router and moved over the PVDM4 card but still no voice commands. What else? License? I have attached the show license output from the new and old router.

Current version isr4300-universalk9.03.16.02.S.155-3.S2-ext.SPA.bin

HOw can I get the voice commands back?

What voice commands are you trying to use that are failing?

Try:

conf t

!

voice service voip

The router has a CME-SRST license.

Try:

conf t

!

telephony-service

!

max-ephone 10

!

exit

It was a license issue. Moved over the PVDM4 card and the old IOS (which was newer than the one on the replacement router) to the "new" router and still no voice commands. Then, we contacted Cisco for a new license. They emailed it. We put it on the router and now there are voice commands.

Since this was a replacement done by Cisco, you can open up a case with GLO and rehost your licenses from the old chassis and install it on the new one.

For the time being, you can run a "license accept end user agreement" command in global config mode, wr and reload the router to activate the license in a evaluation period. This would be valid for 8 weeks and 4 days.
