Impact of ISE Data Retention Period Changes

I want to reduce the 'Data Retention Period' in ise.

If I shorten the period, will the values before that be automatically deleted?

Or should I do the Purge data Now below separately?

The version of ise is 3.2 patch 5.

I think it will be automatically deleted. Purge data now would be to allow you to purge all data immediately.
