Setup wizard not working for virtualized ISE 3.3

Hi everyone,

While deploying ISE 3.3 on VMware, I encountered an unusual issue. When I entered the "setup" command, there was no response. I’ve tried resetting the VM, rebooting it, and even powering it off and back on, but the problem persists.

All the vm requirements have been correctlu fulfielled.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thanks!

UPDATE: After several attempts, we downloaded the OVA file again and verified that the hash matched the one listed on the Cisco portal. After redeploying, we confirmed that the setup wizard now works as expected.

It’s likely that the previously downloaded file was somehow corrupted.

Thank you for your help!

No response at all? or does the "setup" line get disappeared and you get nothing on the screen? if no response at all then it could potentially be an issue with the console access to the VM. Maybe you can try with VMware remote console application and see if that helps?

FYI: we redeployed the vm and tried to enter the setup menu through both web and remote console and nothing happened.

When I enter "setup" and press Enter, it simply returns to the login prompt repeatedly without any response.

What Guest OS have you got for this VM? also, do you have secure boot enabled or disabled for the VM?

What size node?  What version of ESXi?

FYI: we redeployed the vm and tried to enter the setup menu through both web and remote console and nothing happened.

EsXi: 7.0.3 build 24026615.

The size node is the following:

CPU : 16 vCPU

RAM : 32 GB

Disk : 600 GB
