unknown error message "Unknown SNMP error"

Hi,

Does someone knows what this error means (cause?) "unknown SNMP error".

When I do a device and credential verification job on my devices I see this error in the column 'SNMP write credentials' on several devices. The read SNMP is OK.

I checked the credentials via export (CSV) and on the devices and they are correct.

Is there a DB problem ?

I use LMS 2.6 (RME4.0.6) on Soalris 9

Troubleshooting this would be easiest with a sniffer trace captured at the time the credential check job runs. Filter on all SNMP traffic to the problem device, and the trace should illustrate why the failure is occurring.

hello, i am experiencing the same issue on various devices not all. we upgraded to 3.0.1 per tac. and the problem still exsists. still working with tac.

Hi,

The solution may be to check if the configurations on the devices are locked. You have to unlock the config. The reason of the lock could be caused by an Interactive Netconfig batch job.
