I know the SFR module was working because I originally set it up a year ago.  Module is fine on the Primary ASA.

SFR module was working fine on the secondary of the HA pair but noticed this:

Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 9.6(2)
Device Manager Version 7.6(2)150

HQ-ASA5525/sec/stby#  show inventory
Name: "Chassis", DESCR: "ASA 5525-X with SW, 8 GE Data, 1 GE Mgmt, AC"
PID: ASA5525           , VID: V03     , SN: XXXXXXXXX

Module not listed......

Shutdown unit  - reseated SSD

Connected console and watched boot process- no notable errors to report

Green light is lit for HDD

Same result as above

debug module-boot 255

sw-module module sfr reset

show module
   Mod status shows

   sfr - init

after a while
show module
   Mod status shows

   sfr - Unresponsive

Is the SSD bad?

I'd lean towards the SSD being faulty. It should show up in hardware inventory no matter the sfr software module status.

Not necessary. I believe the module is screwed up. Try to reinstall it, first.

If you suspect a bad component, open a TAC case. You can get a SSD replacement, if it's faulty. (if covered by your support).

I am leaning the same way but was hoping someone had something other than show inventory to TS the hardware.  As soon as I get time to open a TAC case I will let you know for sure.

Replaced the SSD and it showed up.  Still cant figure out what happened.  Unit is back up and running.
