Cisco 6500 + FWSM ssh access

Hi Frdz,

Can we access built in fwsm module through SSH, What configuration is required.

We wanted to access it directly via ssh. Pls share any ref document.

Hi there,

From the 6500 prompt, issue sh module to determine which slot the FWSM sits in. The issue the command session slot X processor 1 (where X is the slot number) to telnet onto the line card.

No, you have to go via the supervisor card installed on the chassis as detailed above.

Actually, if I remember rightly there is a console port on the PCB of the FWSM line card itself....but you have pop the FWSM out plug in a console lead and then push the card back in. Not a production solution!!
