Why does the 5510 have two of same ports?

Sorry if this is a dumb question by why does the ASA 5510 have two SPD 0 ports? And does it matter which one I plug the router into? (see image).

Thanks in advance!ASA5510.jpg

the rounded port is SSM-10 module port. its not duplicated and dedicated to module. other ports are for base device.

Like @Kasun Bandara said. The SSM-10 is an optional module with its own dedicated management interface. It is used for configuration and management of the optional IPS module.

Both the ASA 5510 and the SSM-10 are very long past end of life and no longer supported in any way.

Hi @Kasun Bandara, What would the command to view to console port output on these models?  (ASA 5506H-X with FP services, 5516-X,5525-X,5510)

Best

An ASA system console port will automatically send console messages. If you want to add syslog messages, then configure the ASA for "logging console".

For an old 5510 with SSM-10, that dedicated management port doesn't stream any output in normal operations. It only reacts in direct response to commands entered.

@Marvin Rhoads   On the ASA firewall I would also like to configure the console port to access the adminlocal account.

Are there a special way to do this? Best

@MJ666 do you mean you want to control access such that the console port requires using the local admin account?

If so, you can use "aaa authentication serial console LOCAL".
