Help Needed with OpenDNS FamilyShield Private DNS Configuration on Android

I could find the IP addresses for OpenDNS FamilyShield everywhere in the documentation and on the website, but I could not find the "name" that I need to enter in the Android configuration for Private DNS. This field does not accept numbers (IP addresses).

I wonder why this information is hidden or difficult to find...

Hello,

The DNS server addresses for FamilyShield are 208.67.222.123 and 208.67.220.123.

Regarding Private DNS our home based accounts do not support this. If you wish you can enter a request for this feature in our Idea Bank - https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/201090987-OpenDNS-Community-Idea-Bank

If you type familyshield.opendns.com in the Private DNS settings it'll work just fine.

It may not be officially supported but it *does* work.

Also using resolver1-fs.opendns.com will work.

"Supported" is a loaded term, but I'd consider it fully Production. It works, and is expected to keep working. Like our other resolver IPs, it supports DoH, DoT, and DNSCrypt.
