Cisco Catalyst 1300-16P-4X vs *2G stackable or not

According to the cisco model comparison chart below the *1300-4X is stackable but the *2G is not. Why is that?

Stack is a feature. Vendors will always have devices for different customer type, size and pockets. Feature will reflect on the prices.

@Flavio Miranda nailed it, but it basically almost always comes down to technical reasons (e.g. the 4x may have more capacity to support the additional stack ring) and/or marketing reasons (they can sell the 4x at a higher, often more profitable, price).
