Hi All,

get this with a 7200 and NPE200,

CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

Self decompressing the image : ################################################]

%ERR-1-SERR: PCI bus system/parity error

%ERR-1-FATAL: Fatal error interrupt, reloading

err_stat=0x0, err_enable=0xFF, mgmt_event=0x8

=== Flushing messages (00:00:04 UTC Mon Mar 1 1993) ===

*** System received an Error Interrupt ***

signal= 0x16, code= 0x0, context= 0x604c2d30

PC = 0x60159204, Cause = 0x420, Status Reg = 0x34008002

Changing to an even older NPE150 fixed it. What does the error mean, exactly.? Cheers.

you get this error message when router has crashed due to a Processor memory parity error (PMPE). For more detailed information about this type of crashes have a look at the following URL:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/122/crashes_pmpe.html#platforms2

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/122/crashes_pmpe.html

Since the error occurs in all the NPE it is a repeated error. Repeated errors (often referred to a hard errors) are caused by failed

components. A hard error is caused by a failed component, or a board-level problem such as improperly manufactured printed circuit board that results in repeated occurrences of the same error. Hope this clarifies.
