I have a rather large migration involving Cisco IP Phones (1500 lines). My vendor tells me that when they put the model number and the MAC address into their call manager system, it gives an error message if the MAC doesn't line up with the model.
Is anyone aware of a way to pre-check our MACs and Models without doing a visual and touching every phone?

If CDP is supported, the MAC address of the phone is the hostname in CDP.

I know how to check CDP after the phones are installed, but was looking for a way just based on the MAC address prior to fielding the phones. It appears that there is some way to validate the models based on the MAC, but our vendor just knows they get an error, not how it is generated.
Thanks for the feedback.
