My company recently purchased an IE-2000-8tc-g-l switch for a security installation. We wanted to run the cameras with POE but found out this switch does not have it. Instead of paying almost double for the IE-2000-16ptc model that only has 4 POE ports and hold up the job with cisco's 2-3 week lead time, we would instead like to find a POE injector that is compatible with this switch that we can have expedited and complete the job. I know from ordering the SFP modules that Cisco is picky about all the products in the network having their licenses so I want to make sure whatever I order will for sure work with this switch.
Requirements:
We need at least 4 POE ports, 6 or 8 would be preferred for future expansion
We already have a PWR-IE170W-PC-AC= power supply mounted with the switch, if we could use that for the POE injector that would be very nice
