Can I do encryption between two different brands? If I have Cisco on one side and Nortel on the other will it work? Is it difficult to set up? Thanks in advance for the help.

I can't say I have ever tried configuring VPN between a Cisco box and a Nortel box, but I can't see that it would be too much of a problem, so long as they both ahere to RFC standards. After all, protocols and standards are written and complied with so that various vendor equipment can interoperate.

Just to stick my two cents in.....I have tried to setup vpns between different vendors of equipment. Not Cisco but others. Most of the time it doesn't work because as was previously stated, they don't all adhere to the standards. As I recall it might have been a sonicwall and a linksys. I won't make that mistake again!
