ISR4321 Boost License

Hello,

This should be an easy question. We have a customer who has couple of ISR4321 routers and would like to know if they have the Performance Boost License is installed or not. We don't have remote access to routers and I wanted to find out which commands can be executed to produce that information? Is it "show license" or "show license all" or there are commands that could be used?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you, ~zK

Hello,

the 'Performance' and the 'Boost' license are two different licenses.

the command:

sh platform hardware throughput level

should tell you which one you have installed. The attached table gives you the throughput of each platform.

BTW, keep in mind, boost level performance is very, very dependent on router configuration and traffic mix.  I.e. worst case, throughput at about performance level, best (ideal) case, throughput as noted in the image @Georg Pauwen provided.

If you need to know expected actual throughput, you might want to review this Miercom Performance Analysis Report :

This is the output as a result of issuing this command "show license all"

License Usage
=============

booster_performance (ISR_4321_BOOST):
  Description: booster_performance
  Count: 1
  Version: 1.0
  Status: IN USE
  Export status: NOT RESTRICTED
  Feature Name: booster_performance
  Feature Description: booster_performance
  Enforcement type: NOT ENFORCED
  License type: Perpetual

Just to confirm, this means that the boos license is installed and active, correct?

Thank you, all!

Boot License is in active.

What firmware is the router on, is it 16.9.X and earlier?

I am not sure. I didn't ask for the "sh ver".

Just curious, would the firmware version have an impact on the licensing type?

IOS xe version before 16.9.X was standard pak license, later IOS XE code required smart license.

If I am right, the router is NOT on Smart License.

The license is different when the router is on a firmware when Smart License is enabled.
